Account Settings

Manage your personal profile, appearance preferences, and account from the Settings page.

#Accessing settings

Click Settings in the sidebar to access your account settings. The settings are organized into sections accessible from the left navigation.

#Profile

Update your personal information:

1. Go to Settings > Profile.
2. Edit your first name and last name.
3. Click Save.

Your name is visible to all workspace members and appears on your annotations, comments, and manuscripts.

#Email

Your email address is used for:

• Signing in to your account.
• Receiving workspace invitations.
• Password reset and verification emails.

Your email is set during registration and cannot be changed.

#Password

To change your password:

1. Go to Settings > Password.
2. Enter your current password.
3. Enter your new password.
4. Confirm the new password.
5. Click Save password.

#Appearance

Customize how Alfred Scholar looks:

1. Go to Settings > Appearance.
2. Choose your preferred theme:
   • Light - A clean, bright interface for well-lit environments.
   • Dark - A darker interface that is easier on the eyes in low-light conditions.
   • System - Automatically matches your operating system's theme setting. If your OS switches between light and dark mode, Alfred Scholar follows along.
3. Toggle High contrast on or off for improved readability.

Your appearance preferences are saved to your browser and apply immediately.

#Deleting your account

If you want to permanently delete your Alfred Scholar account:

1. Go to Settings > Profile.
2. Scroll to the Delete Account section.
3. Click Delete account.
4. In the confirmation dialog, enter your password.
5. Click Delete account to confirm.

Warning: Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. All your personal data is removed. If you are the sole owner of a workspace, you must transfer ownership or delete the workspace first.
