Co-authored manuscripts
Work on papers together. The manuscript editor auto-saves and shows the latest version to everyone. Threaded comments keep discussions organized by section.
Peer review workflow
Before submitting to a journal, assign manuscripts to team members for internal review. Reviewers leave structured feedback with color-coded comments and resolution tracking.
Role-based permissions
Three roles keep your group organized. The Owner runs the workspace, Colleagues create and modify content, and Reviewers read assigned manuscripts. Inviting Colleagues (students, postdocs, co-authors) needs the Lab plan at ₹2,499/month, which seats up to 10 people: you plus 9 colleagues. Reviewers come with any plan; the 3-day Pro trial and Pro allow up to 3, and Lab makes them unlimited. Invites go out by email with 7-day expiring links.
Shared citation library
Build a citation library together. Import from BibTeX or RIS, auto-extract from PDFs, and ensure consistent formatting across all team manuscripts with workspace-level citation style settings.
AI across the team library
Ask Alfred questions that search across every paper your team has uploaded, by typing or by voice (Bolo dictation works in AI chat and the manuscript editor). New team members can get up to speed on the group's research by chatting with the document library.
Cross-paper analysis with Telescope
Open Telescope to line up many papers in one matrix and compare their methods, samples, and findings cell by cell, each answer cited to the page, then read a synthesis of the gaps between them.
Originality pre-check
Check a manuscript against every document on the platform, not just your team's workspace, before it goes to a journal. Originality checking is platform-wide and currently in Beta.

Your research stays private
All data is scoped to your workspace. We never share research data with third parties or use it to train AI models. Only workspace members can access workspace content.
Bring your own AI key
On any paid plan or trial, the workspace owner can connect an API key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, OpenRouter, or Amazon Bedrock, so AI chat runs on your own account. Embeddings and originality checks stay on Alfred Scholar's shared engine.
