# A clearer, more useful originality check

The Plagiarism check now shows you exactly where your manuscript overlaps other work, lets you focus the score on what matters, and gives you a report you can download and share.

## What changed

- **See the matched passages, highlighted in your draft.** Every similarity score now comes with the exact overlapping passages, listed under each source and highlighted right inside the manuscript editor. No more scores that point at nothing.
- **More sensitive matching.** Smaller overlaps are surfaced too, so partial matches that used to slip through now show up for you to review.
- **Exclude quotes and references.** Properly quoted text and your reference list are left out of the score by default, so it reflects un-attributed overlap. You can toggle either back on.
- **Download a professional report.** Export a clean, academic-style PDF that states what was checked and when, lists every matched passage with its source, and is ready to share with an institution.
- **Plainer wording.** The summary explains what the percentage means and reminds you it is a prompt to confirm quoting and citation, not a verdict. Matches in your own workspace link to the source; others are shown by name.

## Why

A similarity score is only useful if you can see what it points at and trust what it measured. Showing the overlapping passages, letting you set quotes and references aside, and producing a report you can hand to a reviewer turns the check into something you can actually act on.
