# Alfred on every page, and able to do the work with you

> One Alfred that follows you across the whole app, knows your workspace, and can create, run, rename, file or invite for you once you confirm.

Alfred used to live in four places, each with its own conversation and its own short list of things it could do. Move from your library to a manuscript and you started again with someone who knew a little less. Now there is one Alfred, on every page, in one conversation that follows you.

## What's new

- **On every page** - Home, the paper reader, Telescope, Loops, Peer reviews, Plagiarism checks, Trash and Settings all have Alfred, in the same place, bottom right. Press Cmd or Ctrl and J from anywhere.
- **One conversation that follows you** - ask about a paper in your library, open a manuscript, and carry on. Alfred knows which page you are on and what you have selected, so "these" and "this one" mean what you are looking at.
- **It knows your whole workspace** - your papers and what they say, your citations, manuscripts and their reviews, Telescope analyses, Loops, notes, Trash and who is in the workspace. Ask what changed this week, or what a paper says about something, and the answer cites its page.
- **It can do the work** - start a Telescope analysis, set up a weekly Loop, rename or file papers, restore something from Trash, mark a manuscript final and run a plagiarism check, start Viva Prep, assign a reviewer or invite a colleague. Alfred only offers what your role in the workspace allows.
- **Nothing happens until you confirm** - every change arrives as a card that says what will happen, to what, before you tap. Anything that deletes, sends an email or uses a run from your plan says so first. Billing, account security and deleting for good stay yours: Alfred takes you to the page instead.
- **Faster to open and to answer** - the conversation is ready by the time you reach for Alfred, and answers appear as they are written.

## Also changed

- On phones, Alfred stays where it was: the Ask tab, and Ask inside a paper. The dock is for tablets and computers.

## Why this matters

A research assistant is only useful if you do not have to explain where you are and what you mean every time. One Alfred that knows your work, and asks before it touches it, is one you can actually hand things to.
